In this exclusive interview, we delve into the depths of Lutharo‘s creative process, discussing the inspiration behind their music, the challenges they’ve faced, and the exhilarating journey of bringing their new album to life. Join us as we embark on a journey into the heart and soul of one of Canada’s most promising metal acts.
Hello guys! How are you doing at the moment?
Hello! We just released our album “Chasing Euphoria” and are about to start a North American tour so, pretty excited!
Awesome! Did each band member contribute equally to the songwriting process, or did certain members take on specific roles?
Our writing process is usually done as a unit so yes we mostly contributed the same amount.
Following the release of “Chasing Euphoria”, as you said, you are about to embark on a quite extensive tour with Raven, Vicious Rumors and Wicked. How do you mentally and physically prepare for a tour? Any rituals or routines you follow to get into the touring mindset?
Honestly, there is no good way to get prepared for tour because you never know what the road will bring. The best you can do is brace yourself for anything and go with the flow.
Can you share with us how do you adapt your setlist to incorporate new material while keeping the audience engaged?
It’s kind of a trial an error process. We go with our gut when choosing songs we think will translate well live and if they don’t we switch them up.
In what ways do you hope the album will resonate with your fans? Is there a message or feeling you want them to take away from the listening experience?
“Chasing Euphoria” is about someone in a constant search of feeling alive. As humans, we seldomly live in the present moment because of how mundane life can become. So we hope with this album, if people are feeling lost it will help them feel connected again.
I am Italian, so this question is almost mandatory: what is your favorite pasta topping?
A nice tomato sauce with lots of veggies! Maybe a little extra spicy kick as well.
Do you think it’s harder for women to be in the metal industry?
Yes, it’s hard to be a woman in most industries.
I wanted to play a little game with you, if that’s alright. If “Chasing Euphoria” were a movie, what would the tagline be, and which actor would play each band member in the film adaptation?
Chasing Euphoria… “For euphoria, death is a tease”. As far as actors go Victor would be played by Danny Trejo, Chris would be played by Clint Eastwood, Cory would Tom Hanks at the end of “Cast Away”, Jeff our touring guitar player would be played by “Wilson the volley ball” and I would be played by Zakk Wylde.
Thank you so much guys for taking the time to do this interview with me! Is there anything else you’d like to add to Chaoszine’s readers?
Thank you so much for your continuous support, we hope you love our new album “Chasing Euphoria”! :)
