The Pacific Northwest-based black metal project Hulder has officially joined the Season of Mist roster through a co-signing partnership with longtime North American label 20 Buck Spin.

Started in 2018 with the demo tape “Ascending the Raven Stone,” Hulder is the project of a Belgian-born musician currently based in the Pacific Northwest. The name comes from the seductive forest creature of Scandinavian folklore. What started as a solo recording effort in an uninsulated Portland garage has since become one of the most discussed names in the black metal underground.

The project’s debut album “Godslastering: Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry” introduced Hulder‘s blend of pagan folk, symphonic elements, and raw melodicism. In 2022, the five-track mini-album “The Eternal Fanfare” arrived, followed by extensive touring across North America and the project’s first European dates. Then came 2024’s “Verses in Oath,” which sharpened that approach further.
