Here’s the new chapter in the Demon Hunter vs Netflix showdown

In response to the recent lawsuit that Christian metal band Demon Hunter filed against it, Netflix has made a public statement, as per theprp. The latter group filed a lawsuit earlier this week against AEG Presents, the streaming behemoth, and its studio division. The band filed allegations of unfair competition, false designation of origin, and trademark infringement in relation to the popular animated Netflix series “Kpop Demon Hunters,” which debuted in 2025 and has since produced hit singles and live events. The band claimed that there is a lot of consumer confusion between the IP and the Demon Hunter brand as a result of the franchise’s ongoing forays into the Demon Hunter’s own well-established industry.

Demon Hunter, a band that has been around since 2000, has stated that concertgoers who anticipate seeing “Kpop Demon Hunters”-related events have bought tickets to their performances. Additionally, the complaint claims that Demon Hunter‘s internet profile has been adversely affected by the overlap, which has skewed search results and resulted in repeated unintentional references on social media, among other things. In order to regain their “rightful interests” with reference to the Demon Hunter trademark, the organization is requesting a jury trial. They also want compensation and triple damages, and they want Netflix to be prohibited from using the name “KPop Demon Hunters.” In response to the lawsuit, Netflix has released the following statement.
