In January 2023, Hardcore Superstar announced that their drummer Magnus “Adde” Andreasson “won’t be out touring with us for a little while”, calling LOK drummer Johan Reivén “the natural choice to step in until Adde returns”. About a year later, in February 2024, Hardcore Superstar and Magnus “Adde” Andreasson announced their decision to part ways. Now, almost two years later, the Swedish street metallers welcome Efraim Larsson as the new man behind their drum kit:
“We’ve searched long and hard to find the perfect, hard-hitting replacement for Adde and we’ve been so fortunate to have our dear friend Johan help us out, but the time has come… So please welcome Efraim Larsson to the HCSS family!! Effy is based in our hometown of Gothenburg and has performed and/or recorded with a number of acts, including Gathering of Kings, Saffire, Masterplan, Rydell & Quick (as well as earlier projects such as Streamline and Diamond Dawn). Known for his energetic and hard-hitting drumming style, Effy is a great guy who brings both experience and passion to every performance, which makes him a perfect fit for us!”

Efraim Larsson comments on joining the band:
“Wind the clock back to when I was 15 years old, autumn 2007, when my brother played the newly released Dreamin’ In A Casket album for me. Boom, ‘This is for the mentally damaged’ kicked in, and what blasted out of the speakers completely blew me off my chair. Since that day, Adde has been an insanely huge role model and inspiration for me in my drumming, which is why it feels both surreal and incredibly huge to announce that I’ve been given the great honour of carrying the legacy forward as the new drummer in Hardcore Superstar. The respect I feel for Adde and Johan is enormous, and even though those are two pairs of maaaasive shoes to fill, I’ve always liked shoes that are too big. I couldn’t be prouder than I am right now, and I’m crazy grateful that the guys want me on board.”

Hardcore Superstar‘s first show with Efraim Larsson behind the drums took place on Friday (5 December 2025) on Viking Line’s cruise ferry “Glory”, sailing between Sweden and Finland. Magnus “Adde” Andreasson joined the Swedish hard rock band Eclipse in spring 2025.
