Finnish blackened post-hardcore band Svarta Havet has released a new single “Härlig är jorden”. The song is from their upcoming album “Månen ska lysa din väg”, which will be released on May 9 via Prosthetic Records.
The song is based on a Nordic hymn, which vocalist Lotta wanted to transform into a praise for life and the beauty of nature – without a religious framework. According to guitarist Joakim, it is the most important song on the album, and the whole album was built around it.
Formed in 2018, the band was born amidst the Finnish DIY punk and hardcore scene. The members found a common thread both musically and politically: anti-fascist, feminist, trans and queer perspectives and a strong sense of community.
While the band’s debut album “Jord/Vatten”, released in 2021, served as an introduction to the band’s blend of post-metal, hardcore punk and black metal, “Månen ska lysa din väg” deepens and expands the whole – combining a political message and personal sensitivity into a compelling appeal to change the direction of humanity.
