Guitarist Ola Englund (The Haunted) breaks silence on Evanescence riff similarities

Ola Englund, the guitarist for The Haunted, has commented on the parallels between a riff from Evanescence’s most recent single, “Who Will You Follow,” and his own solo song from 2020, “The Sun & The Moon“, as per theprp. You can watch him load both tracks for direct comparisons in the video below to determine whether the accusations of plagiarism he heard about the song were true. In the end, he pointed out that the tempos are almost the same and that both riffs have comparable characteristics, but he concluded that the riff as a whole was too generic for him to first claim ownership.
