The Metal Swap project, part of the Come To Latin America (CTLA) initiative, continues strengthening the cultural exchange between Latin America and Finland. On this occasion, the Finnish band Swansong will perform in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Sunday, November 17 at the emblematic Marquee Session Live, as part of a tour that will also include Chile (they will be joining the CL. Rock festival in Santiago on November 10).

Vocalist Jemiina comments on the tour: “We are very grateful and excited to perform in South America, especially in Chile and Argentina. We know the metal fans are passionate and we can’t wait to immerse ourselves in their vibrant music culture. Despite the differences, music brings us together”.

Hailing from Kuopio, Finland, Swansong is known for its melodic death metal style that fuses classic riffs with contemporary extreme vocals. This year the band has performed at festivals such as Tuska and Nummirock. With the assistance of their record label, Noble Demon, and a team in Brazil, support for their South American adventure is assured.

The band released their debut EP Winter Maiden in 2022, which received considerable attention in Latin America. From black and melodic death metal to neo-classical heavy and folk metal, Swansong covers a wide range of styles. Their debut album, “Awakening”, was released in 2023, with vocals produced by Mathias “Vreth” Lillmåns from Finntroll.

Swansong is made up of Yemiina (vocals), Topi Pitkänen, Tuomas Leskinen (guitars), Lauri Huovinen (bass) and Jimi Möhänen (drums). More info: swansongmetal.com

Metal Swap

Swansong’s tour is part of the Metal Swap project, an initiative to promote cultural exchange between the Finnish and Latin American rock and metal scenes.

Metal Swap is part of Come to Latin America (CTLA), a project supported by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture that aims to internationalise emerging bands by providing platforms for artists from both continents to share the stage at iconic festivals.

Through this tour, Swansong will not only connect with new audiences but also strengthen musical ties between the two regions, replicating the success of other bands such as Chile’s Demoniac, who performed at the Hellsinki Metal Festival in August.

In addition to performing at this important event, the Chilean band participated in meetings with music industry professionals, attended workshops on internationalisation and professional development, and strengthened their network of contacts in the vibrant Finnish metal scene.

They also received a 3,000 euro prize from the renowned company Neural DSP, which included amplifier and effects modelling software and digital signal processing hardware units, key tools to improve the band’s sound and technical capabilities in their future productions and live performances.
