Erra return with explosive new single “Gore of Being”

American progressive metalcore heavyweights Erra are back with a vengeance, dropping their first new track since 2024’s “Cure”. Titled “Gore of Being”, the single delivers a ferocious blend of precision and emotion, packed with towering riffs, blistering drums, and the signature dual vocal attack of J.T. Cavey and Jesse Cash.

The track also marks a milestone for guitarist Clint Tustin, who makes his songwriting debut with the band. What began as an instrumental idea from Clint took on a deeper emotional resonance when it connected, almost by chance, with Jesse’s lyrics. The result is a powerful meditation on mortality, shaped in part by the loss of Clint’s father—adding a personal and cathartic edge to an already intense soundscape.

A gripping music video directed by Pavel Trebukhin accompanies the release, enhancing the cinematic scale of the song. “Gore of Being” also sees the return of producer Daniel Braunstein, whose polished yet brutal production helped define “Cure”.

But that’s not all. Erra have confirmed that a second single, “Echo Sonata”, will drop on July 18th—just as they kick off their North American summer tour supporting Architects with Holywatr.
