Formed in Winterthur, Zürich, in 2002 by Chrigel Glanzmann, Eluveitie is a Swiss band specializing in folk metal. Their initial demo, “Vên”, emerged in 2003. Although “Vên” began as a solo studio endeavor for Glanzmann, its positive reception prompted the assembly of a complete band and a subsequent EP re-release of “Vên” in 2004. Subsequently, the band launched their debut full-length album, “Spirit”, in June 2006. By November 2007, Eluveitie had secured a record deal with Nuclear Blast. Their popularity surged after the release of “Slania”, their first album with a major label, in February 2008. This album achieved a chart position of 35 in Switzerland and 72 in Germany.
