Electric Callboy recruits Sum 41 drummer Frank Zummo for summer shows
Electric Callboy didn’t waste any time finding a new drummer after longtime member David Friedrich announced his departure from the band. And they didn’t just bring in anyone — stepping in behind the kit for the summer festival season is none other than Sum 41’s Frank Zummo.
Zummo is no stranger to the Electric Callboy crew. He previously joined the band on stage in late 2024 during their Australian tour, filling in for Friedrich, who was sidelined due to illness. That collaboration clearly clicked, because now Zummo is officially on board for another round — this time for a string of high-energy festival performances across Europe.
Originally, Zummo could have kicked back after Sum 41’s farewell tour and enjoyed a well-earned retirement. But fate had other plans, and instead, he’s heading straight back into the spotlight with Electric Callboy.
Friedrich announced his departure in late April, citing a desire to explore life outside the band and pursue other goals.
