Solberg began his career in the early 2000s when he founded Leprous with his childhood friend Tor Oddmund Suhrke. Within the band, he serves as vocalist and keyboardist, gradually becoming the primary composer and producer with each successive album. After recording a couple of demos, in the second half of the 2000s the band caught the attention of Ihsahn of Emperor, who chose them as his opening act for his solo concerts; around the same time, Solberg also became part of Emperor’s live lineup, appearing on their live albums *Live at Wacken Open Air 2006*— “A Night of Imperial Wrath” and *Live Inferno*.
In addition to his ongoing work with Leprous, the artist has appeared as a guest artist on various releases, including the aforementioned Ihsahn on several tracks featured on the albums *Eremita* and *Arktis*. Haken on the track “The Architect” (from *Affinity*) and Thomas Giles of Between the Buried and Me on “Everyone Is Everywhere” (featured on *Don’t Touch the Outside*).
Einar kicked off his solo career in 2023 with the release of ‘16’, an album of wildly diverse collaborations, that also saw him performing his first ever solo live dates, performing at the likes of Prognosis Festival, Euroblast, Hellfest & Rock Imperium, alongside a hugely talented live band.
