Def Leppard’s first performance of 2025, which took place in the Auditorio de la Feria León Guanajuato, a 4500-seat arena in Guanajuato, Mexico, did not include guitarist Vivian Campbell. Joe Elliott told the audience that Campbell, who was replaced that evening by John Zocco, Phil Collen’s guitar technician, couldn’t perform because he was undergoing cancer treatment. At the band’s final performance, a surprise appearance at the Daimler Truck Customer Appreciation Event at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in October, Zocco also covered for Campbell. A little more than a month had passed since Campbell’s triumphant completion of 27 gigs on Def Leppard‘s Summer Stadium Tour when the Nashville performance took place. In 2013, Campbell declared that he had Hodgkin lymphoma, and he has been fighting the illness ever since. The San Juan Coliseo de Puerto Rico in Puerto Rico will host Def Leppard‘s next performance on May 15. We’re hoping to see Campbell there!
