In November 2021, Dave Gahan & Soulsavers released their third collaborative studio album “Imposter”, consisting of cover versions of various rock songs. Now, they have released a music video for their reinterpretation of James Carr‘s “The Dark End Of The Street“. You can check out the video below:

The music video was directed by Richard Selvi from the production company “Swiss Made Entertainment” which is based in Los Angeles.

Dave Gahan, best known as the lead singer of Depeche Mode, considers “Imposter” rather as a story of songs, a reflection of his life, than a cover album, as all of the songs have a deep meaning to him:

“When I listen to other people’s voices and songs – more importantly the way they sing them and interpret the words – I feel at home”

– Dave Gahan

He goes on to say:

“I identify with it. It comforts me more than anything else. There’s not one performer on the record who I haven’t been moved by.”

– Dave Gahan

He concludes his views with a wish:

“I know we made something special, and I hope other people feel that and it takes them on a little kind of trip – especially people who love music and have for years.”

– Dave Gahan
