CKY unveil new single “Beware Of The Heartless” with a solo from Brent Hinds (formerly of Mastodon)

With their recently released song “Beware Of The Heartless,” alternative rock group CKY honoured their late buddy Brent Hinds, previously of Mastodon, as per theprp. Hinds, with whom CKY was supposed to tour the UK and Ireland last autumn as part of a run supporting Hinds’ Fiend Without a Face, really has a guest solo on that song. Hinds tragically perished in a motorbike accident on 20 August 2025. Hinds had previously contributed to CKY‘s 2017 song “Days Of Self Destruction.” Chad I Ginsburg, the vocalist and guitarist of CKY, had the following to say about Hinds and the choice to release this song at this time.

We were reminded that it was a year since our friend Brent passed away. Brent played a solo on a song we recorded called ‘Beware of the Heartless’ and I thought, ‘why would I leave this on my computer?’ Brenttook the time to play on it and we loved him, and in honor of his passing, we were too bummed out in the moment to think about that shit, but I want to throw it out there because I don’t want to hold onto it forever. I want to let go of it and give it to everyone.

The band also stated:

This is the second CKY song to feature Brent’s guitar, following “Days of Self Destruction” from The Phoenix.

We were supposed to finally hit the UK together last fall, with Brent’s band Fiend Without A Face. We were all looking forward to it, but sadly that never got to happen.

We miss you, Brent.
