Finnish legends Children of Bodom have just announced the arrival of their first official book. Jaska Raatikainen, Henri “Henkka T. Blacksmith” Seppälä, and Janne Wirman have declared the book a crucial moment in the band’s memory.
Since we stopped making music and suffered the tragic loss of our brother Alexi Laiho, we’ve been remembering so many great times that we had together. In 2023 it will be thirty years since Alexi and Jaska formed a band, and the time is right for us to create a book which tells the story of Children of Bodom in our own words and includes lots of photographs — many never published before — from our own collections.– Raatikainen, Seppälä and Wirman
Following Alexi’s tragic death on 29 December 2020, the band retired from the music business and took time to reflect on their past glories and beyond. Hence, the idea of a real Bodom Storybook, as the remaining members call it.
Since we started doing the ‘Tales from the depths of Lake Bodom’ -series here on social media we have been asked a lot about when we put our stories in one book! During the last two years we have been actively gathering memories and stories from all those 30 years. It’s about time for a proper Bodom storybook!– Raatikainen, Seppälä and Wirman
