Cher has resumed her attempt to place her son, Deadsy frontman Elijah Blue Allman, under temporary conservatorship in response to a recent series of unsettling incidents, as per theprp. In late 2023, Cher made a first attempt to implement the conservatorship, arguing that her son was unfit to manage his finances at the time. Cher was “concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will be immediately spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself and putting Elijah’s life at risk,” according to the original appeal. The money in question comes from a trust fund that his late father, Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band, set up. Elijah is entitled to about $120,000 USD every year through that trust, according to Cher‘s legal team’s 2023 filing.

Elijah denied her mother’s allegations regarding his physical and mental well-being during that legal conflict and claimed in his own court documents that he had been getting professional help for his problems. In September 2024, Cher and Elijah came to an agreement. According to TMZ, Elijah was admitted to the hospital in June 2025 due to an overdose. Elijah was charged with two charges of simple assault, one count of criminal trespass, one count of criminal threatening, and one count of disorderly behaviour on February 27, 2026. Following his arrest for inciting a disturbance at St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire, the charges were brought. According to a police complaint, Allman entered the building by pretending to be the father of a potential student.

A few days later, on March 1st, the 49-year-old singer was arrested once more, this time for breaking into a house in New Hampshire. Authorities were reportedly notified by a homeowner who was hiding inside the house and discovered him smoking a cigarette on a sofa. For the event, he was charged with two charges of criminal mischief, burglary, and violation of bail. According to TMZ, Elijah is still being treated at a mental health facility as a result of that concerning series of events. Elijah allegedly spends his money “almost exclusively on drugs, expensive hotels, and limousine transportation,” according to Cher‘s recently submitted appeal.

The petition also detailed a number of unsettling instances, such as reports that Elijah had to be bailed out of large debts to a drug dealer, a growing tax bill of $200,000, and charges that he had caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to multiple Airbnbs. Elijah’s hostile behaviour with employees and other guests, including one hotel where he allegedly “aggressively proposed sexual relations” with a female maid, led to his alleged expulsion from eighteen hotels in the past. In an attempt to improve her son’s financial situation, Cher is requesting that Jason Rubin be named temporary conservator of Elijah’s estate.
