Hard rock band Catch Your Breath have today released their latest single ‘[Gen]inside‘ featuring Kami Kehoe via Thriller Records, arriving alongside an official music video. The track taps into the weight of misplaced blame and the moment you stop carrying it, hitting with a sharper edge than ever. Watch the music video here.
‘[Gen]inside’ sits in that space where frustration finally boils over. Reflecting what it feels like to be backed into a corner by someone who refuses to take responsibility, while everything around them keeps falling apart. There’s a shift as the song unfolds, from holding it in to pushing back, drawing a line where there wasn’t one before. Bringing Kehoe into the track adds another layer of depth to that moment, validating the idea of standing firm instead of folding under it.
Catch Your Breath vocalist Josh Mowery shares:
“This song is for anyone who’s ever been blamed for the damage someone else caused… for anyone who was told to stay quiet, stay small, or stay on their knees just to keep the peace. If you’ve ever stood in the ruins of something you didn’t break and wondered why you were the one hurting, I want you to remember something — you’re not the problem. Sometimes the truth is simple. The world didn’t fall apart because of you… it fell apart because someone else was holding the gun.”
Kami Kehoe adds:
“It felt unreal to finally put together a song with CATCH YOUR BREATH. I had been in the writing room for their latest album, and when we landed on the concept for this track, I just knew it was something special. I couldn’t be more proud of what we made together and I’m super stoked that everyone finally has the chance to listen.”
