In an article made by Heavy Consequence Kerry King expressed how enjoyable his debut solo albums writing and recording process was. No official release date has been given for the project, but it will drop sometime this year. Kerry King is working with renowned producer Josh wilbur. Wilbur has worked with bands like Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb of God and Gojira to name a few. Kerry King on working with Wilbur:
“Super easy to work with. The guy is a wizard on the computer. I mean when we’re in there editing stuff or overdubbing anything, I’ll do my part, or the singer or whoever is doing their fix or whatever, and he’ll just go back and forth on the computer a few times, go ‘Here, how’s that?’ I’m thinking, ‘I have no fucking idea where you are dude. He’s so quick, so easy to work with. It was spectacular.”
King says Slayer fans will definetly like his solo project since he has written most of the previous Slayer material. And working with Josh Wilbur King says he has come closest ever to capturing his live sound on tape and it definetly has that Slayer vibe.
“It’s my first time working with him, and we hit it off great. Can’t wait to work on another one with him, and he feels the same way about the project.”
Even though there is no set release date for the project there will be two concerts where he will be debuting his new material. First in Florida at Welcome to Rockville on May 9th and second one at Ohio’s Sonic Temple festival on may 16th.
