Brass Against, a metal and rock cover band that performed at the recent Welcome To Rockville festival, made headlines for a special stunt by singer Sophia Urista.

Urista invited a volunteer from the audience on stage and urinated on him during a cover of Rage Against The Machine. Police later opened an investigation into the incident.

Now, Urista herself has opened up about the subject. Urista apologises for her actions and insists that she is not trying to shock anyone. She says:

“Hey everyone. I want to speak to my performance at Rockville metal festival in Daytona. I have always pushed the limits in music and onstage. That night, I pushed the limits too far.

I love my family, the band, and the fans more than anything and I know some were hurt or offended by what I did. I apologize to them and want them to know that I didn’t mean to hurt them.

I am not a shock artist. I always want to put the music first. I’m grateful for all of your continued love and support.”

Brass Against will tour Europe next year with prog-metal band Tool.
