Black Spikes are keeping the visual output coming, with the release of the music video for their tune “Senas Demonas” having occured on September 28th, as per theprp. The Lithuanian avant-garde metal group has previously released a number of mysterious videos in advance of the August release of their new album, “Ydos,” which was distributed by Napalm Records. This most recent watch was directed by Rokas Baškys.
We often meet people who, despite everything beautiful life has given them, can no longer see any happiness in it. In the song, an old man meets the demons of the Vices and tells them that happiness is only an illusion, while pain and suffering are the true parts of life. It leaves us with a question: are our Vices born within us, or does life itself teach us to become them?
Emerging from the shadows are Black Spikes, bringing the darkness right along with them on their new album, “Ydos”, out August 28, 2026. The Lithuanian breakout band’s first release with Napalm Records, coming shortly after their nomination at their home country’s Grammy-comparable M.A.M.A. Music Awards, deals with the eponymous flaws of humanity, conceptually interwoven with modern progressive metal, serving as a complex mirror for us all.
