The legendary Bergen extreme metal gathering Beyond the Gates has unveiled a new round of artists for its 2026 edition. The event is set to take place on July 29 – August 1 in the heart of Bergen, Norway.
Among the additions is a true milestone: Beherit will perform their first ever show in Norway. The Finnish pioneers are widely regarded as one of black metal’s most influential acts. They have forged their legacy with groundbreaking albums such as “The Oath of Black Blood” and “Drawing Down the Moon”.
Joining them are Swiss extreme metal duo Bölzer, fast-rising New York doom act Castle Rat, Norwegian atmospheric project Dold Words Ens Navn, and Swedish stoner/doom trio Saturnalia Temple.
These new names strengthen an already stellar line-up. It includes Emperor, 1349, Arcturus, Misotheist, Imha Tarikat, The Ruins of Beverast, Spectral Wound, Warning, Forteresse, Sulphur Aeon and Concrete Winds.
Celebrating its 14th edition, Beyond the Gates has grown into one of the most respected international extreme metal festivals. The event draws fans from over 50 countries each year. It utilizes multiple iconic venues across Bergen, including the historic Grieghallen and the cultural hub USF Verftet.
