Beherit, the Finnish black metal pioneers from Rovaniemi performed their first proper show in over 30 years this weekend at Rites Of North festival in Oulu, Finland. Fan-filmed video of the entire concert can be seen below.

Beherit is scheduled to play a black metal set on Saturday, April 6th (NWM Day), and an electronic set on Sunday, April 7th (Hospital Day). The lineup of the Japanese festival includes artists such as black metal tyrants BlasphemyDeparture Chandelier, and legendary act Genocide Organ.

The Finnish group played last time under the name Beherit in 1992. The band was formed in 1989 by Nuclear Holocausto Vengeance (Marko Laiho), Black Jesus (Arjo Wennström), and Sodomatic Slaughter (Jari Pirinen), with the purpose of performing “the most primitive, savage, hell-obsessed black metal imaginable”. The band played a secret electronic gig in Finland last August under the name H418ov21.C and you can check it out here:
