Avenged Sevenfold recently released a brand-new line of running apparel, with tanks selling for $125 and shirts for $140, as per MetalInjection. Running apparel has entered the high-end performance market, which was once dominated by yoga companies like Lululemon, throughout the past 10 or so years. In addition to apparel, companies like Satisfy and Bandit also market the entire lifestyle concept of “wear this stuff.” Avenged Sevenfold entered the race now by working on a range of running tops with Represent’s sportswear diffusion line 247. Avenged‘s imagery is elegantly incorporated into the items, which are limited to just five clothing. “The City of Evi”l and “Nightmare” artworks are used on the gear, while another t-shirt and tank return to the classic death bat style.
The price is, of course, the story. A relatively spartan singlet costs $120 on the low end, while a “Nightmare” longsleeve costs a cool $150 on the high end. These costs are not unusual in the context of the 247 line. If you wanted to purchase one of their extremely popular power dry t-shirts, it would cost $110. In the perspective of the brand, an additional $30 for the Avenged Sevenfold license doesn’t seem all that ridiculous. Avenged fans aren’t very enthusiastic. Fans have expressed amazement at the pricing in comments on the band’s Instagram photo, saying things like, “125 for a tank top is fucking ridiculous what are you guys on?“
