Avenged Sevenfold announce headlining tour in Australia and New Zealand

This October, Avenged Sevenfold will return to Australia and New Zealand after a twelve-year hiatus, as per theprp. Rising Australian alternative metal band Thornhill and platinum-certified prog rockers Coheed and Cambria will accompany the band on their tour. Presale priority tickets are currently available to members of Avenged Sevenfold‘s Deathbats Club. Tickets will be available to members of the band’s mailing list starting this Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m. local time. And finally, the general onsale has been slated for this Friday, April 17th at 11:00am local time.

Vocalist M. Shadows, guitarists Zacky Vengeance and Synyster Gates, bassist Johnny Christ, and drummer Brooks Wackerman make up the band’s current lineup. Avenged Sevenfold is renowned for their stunning visuals on album covers and merchandise, as well as their varied rock style. The band’s first album, “Sounding the Seventh Trumpe”t, gave them a metalcore sound, which they mostly maintained in their second album, “Waking the Fallen”. By their third album and first major label release, “City of Evil”, the band had developed a more conventional heavy metal sound. Before Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, the band’s original drummer, passed away in 2009, they continued to experiment with new sounds with their self-titled album and experienced ongoing mainstream success.
