Auditions are now open to be the next Primus’s drummer

The multi-platinum alternative metal band Primus is presently looking to fill the vacancy behind the drum kit, and the search is officially under way. There is undoubtedly a high threshold to meet in order to be able to land the job, considering the skills of Tim “Herb” Alexander, the previous guy to occupy the position. Following Alexander’s decision to leave the band once more last month, the band held open auditions for new members. Whoever gets the job will be up on deck in the spring, even though Tool drummer Danny Carey has offered to play behind the kit during the band’s participation at Tool‘s upcoming “Live In The Sand” festival. On its own, that run should be difficult because Primus will be performing with A Perfect Circle and Puscifer once more as part of a run of gigs honoring Tool‘s and the two bands’ singer Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday. Due to the nature of the tour, all three bands perform each other’s songs and trade members all night long.
