German electronicore outfit Electric Callboy have just released a spirited cover of Sum 41’s hit “Still Waiting,” featuring their touring drummer Frank Zummo—formerly of Sum 41. You can listen to the track below and on streaming platforms, with official music video releasing later today.
The cover was announced on August 19, when the band revealed via social media that “the thing” they’d been teasing would finally be revealed: their rendition of “Still Waiting,” set to hit streaming platforms on Friday, August 22nd. Frank Zummo, who stepped in as Electric Callboy’s drummer this year following the departure of longtime drummer David-Karl Friedrich, lends his dynamic drumming to the release, marking a neat continuity with his Sum 41 roots.
The band has steadily built momentum throughout 2025, starting with the release of “Ratatata” in May, a high-energy collab with Babymetal that even served as the theme for WWE’s Bash in Berlin event. Zummo’s integration has been gradual yet notable—fans have been treated to drum playthroughs and teasers for tracks like “Revery,” “Elevator Operator,” and “Ratatata” on the band’s YouTube channel.
Electric Callboy also noted that Frank Zummo officially joined as their drummer for the summer festival season and beyond, following Friedrich’s departure earlier in the year.
The original “Still Waiting” by Sum 41 appeared on their 2002 album “Does This Look Infected?”. With Zummo behind the kit this time, Electric Callboy’s take promises both nostalgic energy and fresh intensity.
