A tour featuring both of the big names in the melodic metal sphere will have selected dates in the country, culminating with an explosive participation in the Summer Breeze Brasil festival.
With more than thirty years on the road and renowned worldwide since the beginning of their career, Angra continues to promote the acclaimed album “Cycles of Pain”. Now, the group releases a new version of “Tide of Changes”, featuring legendary vocalist Jeff Scott Soto. Both begin a tour with selected dates in Brazil in April.
Soto comments on the news: “This is exciting news about a duet I just did with the great Fabio Lione, on a single already released from the new album “Cycles Of Pain”. The song ‘Tide Of Changes’ was remade with both of us singing. I’m also excited to announce that we will debut this version live at the shows I’ll be doing with Angra in April, in Brazil. I’m very happy to finally sing an Angra song with my brothers and I think you’ll like this collaboration, see you soon!”
Bassist Felipe Andreoli adds: “Jeff Scott Soto is present in my musical life, singing in several of the works that were part of my growth as a musician and as an artist. Being able to be his friend today and have him participate in these Angra shows is a great privilege. We’ve already had the opportunity to work together, and being next to Jeff on stage is incredible. So, I think we’re going to have a great celebration of music with Jeff and Angra.”
Presenting to the public the characteristics that made the band famous, “Tide of Changes” comes with deep lyrical themes of resilience in the face of life’s hardships.
Guitarist and composer Rafael Bittencourt adds on to the discussion: “We live in a moment of great instability and, while our ego seeks the comfort zone and control, we are forced to adapt to this impermanence, learn to surf the waves of destiny, making our emotions more flexible. plans. The lyrical self of “Tide of Changes” suffered at different moments in his life to the point of feeling exhausted and unable to react, but it was at rock bottom that he found the strength to face his shadows.”
The album “Cycles of Pain” marks a new era in the group’s career, and features special appearances by artists such as singer Amanda Somerville, pianist Juliana D’Agostini and Brazilian music legend Lenine. The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Dennis Ward, who worked on classic Angra albums such as “Rebirth” and “Temple of Shadows”.Experiencing a moment of inspíration in their career, Angra is currently formed by guitarists Rafael Bittencourt and Marcelo Barbosa, bassist Felipe Andreoli, vocalist Fabio Lione and drummer Bruno Valverde.
