The band Genghis Tron released a new album after five years by the name “Signal Fire”. That’s the fourth of their discography, and the second with the singer Tony Wolski. The genre of this band it’s always been hard to label into a one. The first two albums have been labeled as avant garde metal with grindcore influences. We could simply say Genghis Torn is an experimental/cybergrind band. The sound blends electronic music with a hardcore voice. And then great guitar riffs and bass lines, stunning beats from drums or drum machine. And do not forget the atmosphere created by the wall of sound by the synths.

Signal Fire could be designed as a worthy successor of their third album Dream Weapon, but treated with steroids. This fourth work puts once again on high levels on the underground musical scene. In the end you can understand Genghis Tron is not an ordinary band with ordinary songs. That’s why their music is well appreciated by the critics. It’s an album where the band resumes playing raw songs with post rock arrangements. But in any case, Signal Fire even knows quiet and introspective moments as its predecessor.

Genghis Tron, right in the face

In this work the band has a direct contact with the listeners. The themes explored by the quartet from New York are dystopia, questions about identity and eternal conflicts. Messages arrive right in the face, with all their rawness and badness. “All in One” is the right name for this album. We can consider it a self tribute about their previous works. The desire to explore new horizons with early distinctive features. In conclusion, Signal Fire is a strong work and has a great personality. If you never listened to this band try to give it a chance, you won’t regret it.
