Aerosmith reuniting for Tyler’s Grammy celebration

Author Benedetta Baldin - 27.1.2025

According to Billboard, Aerosmith members will perform together again at Steven Tyler‘s sixth annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party next month. Comedian Tiffany Haddish will host the well-known charity event on February 2 at the Hollywood Palladium. Rock legends Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Linda Perry, Matt Sorum, and Nuno Bettencourt will all perform at the gathering. Although Billboard does not include guitarist Brad Whitford or drummer Joey Kramer, it does highlight Perry, Hamilton, and Tyler as part of the rumoured Aerosmith reunion. Since 2019, the latter had not played with Aerosmith regularly; instead, John Douglas filled in during the band’s brief farewell tour and Las Vegas residency. In 2015, Tyler started Janie’s Fund, which is named after Aerosmith‘s popular song “Janie’s Got a Gun,” to help young women and girls who have experienced abuse. In addition to its main objective, this year’s Jam for Janie will benefit the Widows, Orphans, and Disabled Firefighter’s Fund and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation following the wildfires in Southern California. Over 100 firemen are invited to attend the event.

What the Los Angeles community has endured with these wildfires is unthinkable. Music has healing powers and we hope to bring a moment of joy and levity to our first-responder firefighters and those most affected by the fires. The trauma experienced by the girls we work with is also unthinkable and we will continue to shed light and support the amazing work of Janie’s Fund. Steven Tyler
