A new chapter is beginning – review of “Painstream” by Blind Channel

Author Benedetta Baldin - 28.10.2026

Some people like change, some people don’t. But change is inevitable, and it is a part of life wheter we want it or not. Finnish band Blind Channel have experienced themselves some changes in the band, but now they’re back with a new album titled “Painstream”. So let’s see what they have prepared for us…

Blind Channel are such a super tight and solid formation that it’s impossible to dislike what they are releasing; they are at a certain level because of the consistency of their releases. Even though “Exit Emotions” will always be in my heart, “Painstream” is also a remarkable record of the group.

The listening experience is very smooth, with production, mixing and mastering done almost to perfection: this enhances how everyone will approach the album! “Into The Void” with Aaron Pauley of Of Mice & Men and “Me Versus Me” are definitely some of the top tracks of this album, but I have to admit that “Types Of Killing” steals the crown without a doubt.

If there is one thing that I appreciate so much about Blind Channel, and that is very evident in “Painstream”, is that the band is not afraid to get real, really fast during their songs. Their direct and to-the-point approach is what defines them and separates them from the rest of the acts nowadays.

So if you have been enjoying the already released singles, you will absolutely enjoy even more the whole “Painstream” album. Blind Channel is back, and they are the same as always, but this new chapter is definitely an improvement for them. They are growing with each release, and that’s the calling card for true artists.
