A K-5 music teacher used Slipknot’s music as teaching material in her class
US K-5 school teacher Risha Allen has posted a rather delightful video of one of her lessons on her TikTok channel.
In the video, Allen uses the song “Wait And Bleed” by metal giants Slipknot as a teaching tool, as one of the students in the class explains that they prefer metal music to rap.
Allen’s lesson was clearly about time signatures, so Allen demonstrates how to count to the beat of “Wait And Bleed”.
“I’m a little nervous here [because] I want to relate to him. He hadn’t really engaged with me or liked music class up until this point, so I felt like relating to and respecting his music (very personal) would help me connect with him”, Allen says on the video.
