A Gojira show with $30 tickets? Now it’s a reality!

It’s not common to see bands performing for as little as $30, particularly in 2026 and especially not one as large as Gojira, but that’s just what will happen this coming week at a 1,200-seat facility in St. Louis, as per loudwire. Additionally, the program has a philanthropic component that adds to its uniqueness. Gojira has scheduled a performance for September 18 at The Sovereign in St. Louis. The band is happy to add this last-minute addition to their touring schedule. If you’ve seen them at any time in the past few years, they’ve supported large-scale tours and performed at numerous festivals. Thus, this is an opportunity to be a little more direct and intimate.

The largest independent food bank in the city, Operation Food Search, will receive all of the show’s revenues. Ondres is home to the French heavy metal group Gojira. The band was founded in 1996 under the name Godzilla. Since the band changed its name to Gojira in 2001, its lineup has remained the same: brothers Joe (vocals, guitar), Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (guitar), and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass). Gojira is well-known for their technical and advanced death metal genres and lyrics, which frequently touch on topics of environmentalism, philosophy, and spirituality. The band has gone “from the utmost obscurity during the first half of their career to widespread global recognition in the second”.

Gojira became known as a top French metal band thanks to its first two albums, “Terra Incognita” (2001) and “The Link” (2003), as well as its stirring live performances. The silent film score for Maciste All’Inferno was written and performed for a one-night performance in Bordeaux.
