66,000 souls, one loud family: The faces of Tuska’s historic record-breaking crowd

Author Pasi Eriksson - 8.7.2026

Tuska 2026 was an absolute monster of a weekend. Suvilahti didn’t just host a music festival; it became the temporary capital of the global metal community, drawing a staggering 66,000 metalheads to break the festival’s all-time attendance record.

Finnish summer is notorious for giving you four seasons in a single weekend. The crowd danced through sudden heat, humidity, and atmospheric rain showers without missing a single beat.

From the legendary farewell energy of Megadeth to the modern, explosive visual masterclasses of Bad Omens and Bring Me The Horizon, the energy radiating from Helsinki was pure, unfiltered heavy metal magic.

But as massive as the bands were, the real heart, soul, and spine of Tuska 2026 belonged to the fans.

Tuska 2026 proved that while the riffs might be heavy and the weather unpredictable, the bond between 66,000 strangers sharing a cold drink and a massive headbang is unbreakable. You folks didn’t just attend a record-breaking festival—you made it historical.

Our photographer was able to capture some of you in his photos, so let’s go back for a moment to the atmospheric fan photos of this year’s Tuska. You can see the photos here:
