Fields Of The Nephilim closed out the spooky season at the O2 Kentish Town with a dramatic, 40th-anniversary performance that felt like stepping onto a “Weird West” movie set. Frontman Carl McCoy, emerging from smoke, delivered a stunning set of classic gothic anthems, backed by the band’s mysterious, theatrical presence. The night was a journey through the darker side of music, also featuring a pleasantly surprising set of unique “bloodgrass” (dark country) from openers Heathen Apostles, and a return to the stage for UK alternative rock legends Claytown Troupe. The concert proved a powerful reminder of why live music remains the most engaging way to experience and discover new bands.
