Zetra unveil new single ‘Adrena’ as they leave their masked image behind

British duo Zetra have unveiled a new single, “Adrena“, alongside a striking change to their visual identity. After becoming known for a mysterious presentation built around corpse paint and dark cloaks, the group have discarded both elements as they move into a different phase of their career.

The transformation goes beyond the musicians’ appearance. The new track points toward a shift in Zetra‘s sound, moving away from the contrast between black-metal imagery and ethereal synth-driven music that helped define their earlier releases. The band have also released an official music video for “Adrena” to introduce this direction.

In an interview with Kerrang!, guitarist and vocalist Adam explained that the band’s original makeup was central to the identity they had created. As their music began to change, however, the musicians felt that keeping the same dark visual presentation would no longer fit the new material. He acknowledged that the decision is likely to raise questions among listeners.

For longtime followers, “Adrena” therefore serves as more than another standalone song: it offers a first look at how Zetra intend to present themselves musically and visually going forward. The official video is available to watch on YouTube.

Shrouded in mystery, the UK duo blend elements of shoegaze, synth, and post-punk into a sound that is other-worldly and spellbinding. Emerging from the underground with a haunting visual aesthetic of cloaked figures and vintage analog synths, Zetra have already begun to carve a devoted cult following.

Zetra were recently awarded The Great Escape’s Steve Strange Award for 2025, following their performance at the festival earlier this year. The award celebrates boundary-breaking new talent and the legacy of the iconic music agent Steve Strange. Recently the pair supported mysterious new act President in London.
