Wolfbrigade unveils “Cold War Bootlicker” and announces new album “Howl From Underground”

Swedish crust punk veterans Wolfbrigade have confirmed that their twelfth full-length “Howl From Underground” arrives October 9 through Metal Blade Records. The band also shared the first single “Cold War Bootlicker” along with a music video.

Wolfbrigade formed in 1995 in Mariestad, Sweden, and originally went by the name Wolfpack until 1999. Across three decades, the group has built a reputation for d-beat raw punk, and they count the first three of their twelve albums under the Wolfpack banner. This time, the band stepped outside their usual approach and brought in producer Lawrence Mackrory at Necromorbus Studio, after a decade of self-produced records. Drummer David “Dadde” Stark also returned to the lineup, having previously played with the band from 2002 to 2015.

According to the band, “Cold War Bootlicker” deals with false opposites and the idea that competing camps still serve the same machinery. The single marks the first taste of “Howl From Underground,” which follows their 2024 comeback record “Life Knife Death.”
