For everyone who doesn’t just listen to metal but also works with it, for all DIYers and handymen, and for everyone who likes to roll up their sleeves – the first official Wacken Workwear collection will be released on May 8, 2026!
Together with the new W:O:A partner Würth MODYF, an exclusive collection has been designed that includes jackets, pants, shirts, vests, and wellies – making it perfect not only for the construction site or the workshop, but of course also for the festival grounds.
The collection combines durable materials and functional features with subtle Wacken branding. Weatherproof, festival-tested, and sturdy enough for tough workdays, this workwear was developed with real-world experience in mind – not least because functional workwear has been a common part of festival fashion for years.
The idea of launching its own workwear line has been on Wacken Open Air’s mind for some time now. The festival has repeatedly received requests from the community, as many fans have been wearing workwear at W:O:A for years anyway. The new collection captures this very spirit and translates it into a unique Wacken edition.
“Whether it’s for building stages, DIY projects, or other activities – our Wacken Workwear is designed for everyone who really gets their hands dirty or needs durable clothing for the festival,” says Thomas Jensen (founder and promoter of Wacken Open Air).
“That naturally includes our unbeatable crew, whom we outfit together with Würth MODYF – but also all the fans and guests of Wacken Open Air!” continues Holger Hübner (Wacken Open Air founder and promoter).
“It’s the combination of Würth MODYF’s renowned workwear quality and the iconic Wacken designs that makes it special! Our workwear is designed for both the Holy Ground and every tough workday – we kept both of these aspects in mind throughout the entire process of creating the collection,” explains Jasper Ahrendt, Head of Merchandising.
The new Wacken Workwear collection is now available exclusively at Metalmerch. The collection will also be available on-site at the Wacken Open Air. Two additional T-shirt designs will be released at the start of the festival.
