Within Temptation has unveiled a powerful new video for their latest single “Sing Like A Siren”, featuring Ukraine’s 2024 Eurovision representative Jerry Heil. Directed by longtime collaborator Maarten Welzen — known for his work on “Paradise (What About Us?)” and “Entertain You” — the video blends symphonic rock with haunting Ukrainian folk elements.
At the heart of the track is a traditional vesnyanka, a Ukrainian springtime folk song, adding a hypnotic rhythm and seasonal symbolism. Opening with a soft piano melody, the song builds into an epic climax, reflecting themes of vulnerability, resilience, and hope. Heil describes it as “a soundtrack to the movie we’re all living in.”
Heil, a fan of the band since her teens, met Within Temptation at the Atlas Festival in Kyiv, where their creative partnership was born. For her, working with the band was a dream come true.
“Sing Like A Siren” also serves as the soundtrack for the band’s new documentary “The Invisible Force”, which follows their journey to Ukraine and highlights their support for local artists during the ongoing “Bleed Out” tour. The band has been vocal in its support of Ukraine throughout the war, taking part in benefit concerts and donating to Ukrainian forces.
Earlier, vocalist Sharon den Adel traveled to Kyiv to shoot “A Fool’s Parade” with Ukrainian artist Alex Yarmak. She said she never felt unsafe thanks to the support of organizations like Music Saves Ukraine.
The newly released documentary “The Invisible Force” offers a moving look at the band’s efforts to amplify Ukrainian voices through music as a form of resistance and solidarity.
