American power metal titans Kamelot are now on tour performing songs from their brand new album “The Awakening”, which came out on March 17 via Napalm Records. It is the band’s first studio album in five years, following 2018’s “The Shadow Theory”, and the first one to feature Alex Landenburg on drums following the departure of Johan Nunez.

With crystal clear modern production helmed by the band and longtime producer Sascha Paeth, plus mastering by Jacob Hansen of Hansen Studios, Kamelot’s 13th studio album is accented by guest contributions from the likes of Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum) and renowned instrumentalists like violinist Florian Janoske and Grammy-nominated, soundtrack-featured cellist Tina Guo.

In the days before the beginning of the tour, Chaoszine talked to band’s vocalist Tommy Karevik about everything related to the new LP, the songs, guest musicians, and more. Besides, the Swedish frontman analyzed the appropriate balance between light and dark in Kamelot’s music and his opinion about Artificial Intelligence and its use in music.
