Italian dwarven power metallers Wind Rose return with their new album, “Trollslayer”, out October 4, 2024, via Napalm Records. The band smashed into the scene with viral appearances on TikTok and has solidified its reputation as a powerhouse in the modern metal scene. From folk tones to their particular brand of power metal, they have conquered a large audience worldwide, having toured alongside the likes of Ensiferum, Wintersun, Finntroll, Epica and Eluveitie.
Wind Rose ascended to dwarven stardom with their breakout hit “Diggy Diggy Hole“, featured on “Wintersaga” (2019). Their subsequent album, “Warfront” (2022), further cemented their popularity, debuting in the Top 10 on the U.S. Current Hard Music Albums chart. Now, “Trollslayer” arrives before their most immense European tour ever alongside Powerwolf and Hammerfall. It promises the perfect blend of signature party anthems alongside select deeper, more serious tracks.
Chaoszine had the opportunity to chat with vocalist Francesco Cavalieri about the upcoming release “Trollslayer”, the birth of the dwarven metal subgenre, and the costumes and characters that come with their live performances. Cavalieri also spoke of the importance of not taking themselves too seriously as part of the deal and the inspiration from J.R.R. Tolkien’s universe as central to their whole band concept. They discussed their upcoming tour plans, and Cavalieri also spoke of their experience touring with the Finnish band Ensiferum.
