Evyatar David and Guy Gilboa-Dalal, two ardent supporters of Avenged Sevenfold, were just reunited after being abducted by Hamas in the fall of 2023 and spending two years in Gaza. During their struggle, the childhood friends also spent a significant period of time together in captivity. Both were present at the Nova Music Festival on October 07, 2023, when Hamas launched their historic raid, killing countless people and taking hundreds of Israelis and others hostage. The violent Israel-Gaza conflict, which continued until last month, was started by that occurrence.
This week, the two listed above were released and went back to Israel. As part of the hostage/prisoner exchange being carried out through the tentative peace agreement supported by U.S. President Donald Trump to put an end to the Israel-Gaza conflict, they were liberated. Following their release, it was revealed that the two pals had listened to some Avenged Sevenfold music together while in the hospital. The couple also received a personal video greeting from Avenged Sevenfold vocalist M. Shadows after the band’s predicament was brought to their attention by the Israel Avenged Sevenfold fan group.
You may watch that video below, along with Guy’s startled response, as reported by theprp. He stated in the video that he and Evyatar had spent the previous evening listening to Avenged Sevenfold, and that the band’s music was “so much better than imagining it for two years.”
