Following up several months of building anticipation, the leading figure in the Nordic Folk / pagan scene, Wardruna releases its new album “Birna” today.

Today is the release of our sixth album Birna – a sonic journey into the woodland realms of the bear and its cyclic life rhythm. May it resonate and may the nature of the bears inspire you as much as it has inspired us.
It is very much a conceptual album that is perhaps best experienced when listened to from beginning to end. If you wish to dive even further into the deeper meanings of the songs but don’t understand the language, then please know that our albums always include a booklet including lyrics translated into English.

Alongside the new record, Wardruna is also releasing the Blu-ray/DVD ‘Live at the Acropolis’. The concert was filmed at the world heritage site Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Acropolis, Athens during the autumn equinox on September 21, 2023. It features the full show and bonus material, giving viewers the experience and insight into this “once-in-a-lifetime experience”. A clip from the performance can be seen below.
