Yesterday, the first visitors of the festival Wacken Open Air 2024 arrived in the village of the same name in Northern Germany. Today, in the early hours of the morning, shortly after 4 AM, there was a first incident to report: For reasons still unknown, a merchandise tent on the festival grounds caught fire. The fire spread to three more tents and two vehicles. One of the vehicles burned out completely, the other one was significantly damaged. After 45 minutes, the fire brigade was able to completely extinguish the fire. Fortunately, no one was injured. The local police have published pictures of the fire damage (see below) and are now looking for witnesses. Witnesses can visit the police camp on the festival grounds or call +49 4827 93190 10. Wacken Open Air 2024 officially starts tomorrow.
