Finland’s genre-blurring rock trio Von Hertzen Brothers will return to the UK this August for four explosive live shows, following the October 2024 release of their ninth studio album, “In Murmuration”. The run kicks off on Thursday 7th August at 1865 in Southampton, continues Friday 8th August at The Dome in London, moves to Rescue Rooms in Nottingham on Saturday 9th August, and wraps up on Sunday 10th August at the Firevolt Festival in Stockport.
The album, which dropped on in October 2024, marks a departure from the expansive, prog-heavy approach of 2022’s “Red Alert in the Blue Forest”, embracing a sharper, more accessible yet still emotionally conscious sound. With big, cinematic drums, infectious hooks, and standout saxophone flourishes, “In Murmuration” reveals a band that continues to evolve while staying true to its progressive roots.
Injecting fresh energy into the stage setup, the UK run sees brothers Mikko, Kie and Jonne Von Hertzen joined by multi-instrumentalist Markus Pajakkala and powerhouse drummer Mikko Sirén of Apocalyptica. Mikko notes that the new lineup—nicknamed “The Famous Five”—has reignited the band’s rock heart and made live performances more explosive than ever. Fans can expect a high-voltage set spanning the full breadth of their career, from soaring anthems to intricate prog journeys.
Support on the Southampton, London and Nottingham dates comes from Oli Brown & The Dead Collective, whose cinematic, brooding rock and soulful edge are the perfect match for the Von Hertzen Brothers’ emotionally charged energy.
