For May 11th season finale of the reality singing competition series “American Idol,” multi-platinum rock group Shinedown and glam metal icons Mötley Crüe hit the stage, as per theprp. Mötley Crüe welcomed diamond-certified country music star Carrie Underwood for a brief performance of their 1985 power ballad “Home Sweet Home,” followed by a run-through of 1989’s “Kickstart My Heart.” Shinedown, on the other hand, had “American Idol” contestant Philmon Lee join them for a partial performance of their recent single “Searchlight” and their 4x platinum 2008 hit “Second Chance.” Tonight’s broadcast included performances by numerous special guests, including as Nelly, En Vogue, and others, in addition to presenting this season’s winner.
