Pro-shot video from Metallica‘s fourth Helping Hands Concert and Auction in Los Angeles has been made public. Jimmy Kimmel headlined the benefit, which was held at the YouTube Theater on Friday, December 13. It included performances by Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Kenny Aronoff in addition to the thrash metal heavyweights’ electric and acoustic sets. The video below allows you to view the performance, which includes Metallica‘s two sets. In addition to covering Diamond Head‘s “Helpless” and Bachman-Turner Overdrive‘s “Away From Home“, Metallica‘s five-song acoustic set featured “Low Man’s Lyric“, which they hadn’t played since 1998. During the acoustic session, Metallica was joined on stage by the classically trained duet SistaStrings and Avi Vinocur. Funds are raised for the Metallica‘s All Within My Hands charity, which promotes hunger alleviation, disaster assistance, and workforce education. In addition to performing “Fuel” with a new arrangement, James Hetfield and company’s electric set featured a rare appearance by “The Unforgiven II“. Jeff Ament, the bassist for Pearl Jam, joined them for their rendition of “Hit The Lights“.
