Deen Castronovo, the drummer for Journey, resumed performing on stage on Saturday evening (October 10) with his bandmates at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, as per Blabbermouth. This occurred only two days after he experienced a medical emergency during a concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Journey guitarist Neal Schon addressed this situation via a comment on Facebook early Sunday morning, in response to a fan inquiry regarding Castronovo’s performance in San Antonio.
He crushed last night.
Schon also stated:
Deen was back in rare form.
According to Setlist.fm, Castronovo provided lead vocals on three tracks during the concert — “Lights,” “Keep on Runnin’,” and “Precious Time” — and shared vocal duties with keyboardist Jonathan Cain on “Just the Same Way” and “Anytime.”
Castronovo also provided a statement:
Thank you all for the overwhelming love, concern, well wishes, messages and texts over the past couple of days. While I haven’t been able to respond to everyone personally, please know how much your kindness and support mean to me. Tulsa, I’m so sorry I couldn’t finish the show with you all. Thank you to Jonathan Cain, Neal Schon and everyone at the BOK Center for lifting me up in prayer that night. Hearing about that touched my heart deeply. I’ll be joining Journey on stage in San Antonio tonight. Much love to you all!.
And so he did.
