Journey’s drummer Deen Castronovo experienced a health crisis during the band’s performance on Thursday evening (October 8) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as per Blabbermouth. According to reports, Journey halted the concert after only two songs, and keyboardist Jonathan Cain spoke to the audience after all the other members exited the stage.
We’re gong to see what happens as this progresses. It’s an unfortunate situation. We’re very sorry. We’re hoping it’s only a delay, but please — I’m sorry. Don’t worry. Have your prayers ready. Have your prayers ready for Deen Castronovo, everybody. Thank you.
Approximately 10 minutes later, Journey’s guitarist Neal Schon came back to the stage and announced that Castronovo had been transported to the hospital. The concert then resumed, with Castronovo’s drum technician, Steve Toomey, taking his place behind the drums.
Give a big hand for Steve Toomey. We love you all. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience.
Schon also stated later:
This concert is for Deen. I think he’s going to be fine.
