Bruce Dickinson, the singer of Iron Maiden, competed for Great Britain in the “Veterans” division of the Circuit Européen 2025 fencing competition at Faches-Thumesnil on Sunday, January 19th. He defeated Denmark’s Jeiner Simon 10/4 in the opening round before falling to Jolyot Pascal of France 10/1 in the second round. In the end, Bruce placed 13th out of 31 fencers in the “Veterans” category overall. Below is a video of his presence at the competition, provided by Eddie The Head Fan Club via his wife, Leana Dolci. At the age of 13, Bruce began fencing in school, but only after being persuaded to do so by a teacher. He found that it involved not just physical training but also mental stimulation.
