The Swedish metal band Sabaton began their “The Legendary Tour” at Cologne, Germany’s Lanxess Arena last night, as reported by blabbermouth.net. With “The Legendary Orchestra and other surprises,” the band hinted that the 20-city European tour will be “a huge celebration of Sabaton’s music, storytelling and the incredible bond they share with their fans,” culminating in “something unprecedented.” “The Legendary Tour” is Sabaton‘s first major tour to promote their eleventh studio album, “Legends,” which was released by Better Noise Music on October 17.
Setlist:
The Legendary Orchestra, a formidable musical force that reimagines the band’s songs, both new and old, with massive orchestrations, booming choruses, dramatic narration, and memorable performances by hand-picked musicians led by exceptional guest stars, joined Sabaton for the Cologne concert. Mia Asano, a violinist; Patty Gurdy, a singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and hurdy-gurdy powerhouse; renowned vocalist Noa Gruman, who will also direct; and a group of incredibly gifted orchestral players are among them.
Award-winning producer Joost Van Den Broek has created fresh orchestral and choral arrangements of Sabaton songs for the Legendary Orchestra’s concerts. Strong harmonies, choirs, lead vocals, authoritative lead instruments, and a wide range of instrumentation that pushes the limits of the classical and metal genres all contribute to Sabaton‘s compositions.
Sabaton explores some of the finest and most beloved personalities in history, including Jeanne D’arc (also known as Joan of Arc), Napoleon Bonaparte, Julius Caesar, and the fabled swordmaster Miyamoto Musashi, throughout the aptly named “Legends,” which combines rock and history for fans of all ages.
